Highlights:

  • Establishment of a high-level exchange and cooperation platform for business leaders from the UK and China, effectively promoting innovation and industrial exchanges between the two countries.

  • First official dinner hosted for Chinese entrepreneurs in the UK in Windsor Castle. Prince Andrew, Duke of York, also attended the banquette.

  • Visit to Buckingham Palace: high-level exchange with HRH Prince Andrew, Duke of York on creating a platform for start-ups in the technology industry and future incubator trends.
  • Visit to the Rothschild Manor: exchange with Lord Jacob Rothschild to explore the secrets of inheritance and wealth management of family businesses.
  • Visit to Cambridge ARM: exchange with Stephen Pattison, Vice President of Public Affairs, on the future of the smartphone market.
  • Visit to Imperial College London Data Science Institute: exchange with Professor Yi-ke Guo about the future of data sharing and analytics technology.

Highlights:

  • Pitch@Palace China was successfully launched in May 2017 by BHIG in partnership with Pitch@Palace Global. It established its reputation amongst Chinese entrepreneurs and received high praise from senior Chinese politicians and business leaders.
  • Entrepreneurs showcased innovative technologies including lower limb exoskeleton robots, trace irrigation technology, directional hearing aids. Pitch@Palace China created a platform for entrepreneurs to both increase their professional skills and to attract investment opportunities.
  • Pitch@Palace China 1.0 built an invaluable network for Chinese entrepreneurs, connecting entrepreneurs with the world

Private Viewing of Zhang Huafeng’s Works

Guests: Wang Yongli, Minister Counsellor for Education of the Chinese Embassy; Virginia Sykes-Wright, Director of Asian Art London; representatives of the Royal College of Art, British auction houses, and other institutions

Highlights:

  • The event was held at the British Museum
  • Five Chinese painters collaborated in this event (Mr. Zhang Song, Mr. Zhang Huafeng, Mr. Guang Sheng, Mr. Huang Zhenzhong and Mr. Jin Dawei)

PR Events Officer

PR Events Officer

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced PR Events Officer at a leading event firm in central London with a focus on UK-China PR events.

The purpose of this role is to support senior managers, and the team where appropriate, in the preparation and delivery of international promotional campaigns for Chinese clients.

The successful candidate should have a strong background in public relations activities for Chinese clients, be UK-based have an excellent grasp of Mandarin Chinese and English.

Key Area of Responsibilities

  • Liaise with clients and stakeholders to identify PR needs in the UK;
  • Support to generate business leads and convert into real PR campaigns/events;
  • Be responsible on the event delivery;
  • Assist senior managers in producing proposals, quotations, delivery plans and budgets;
  • Ensure the production of designs and collaterals to meet client’s expectation;
  • Maintain close and effective communication with clients and stakeholders to ensure the campaign is progressing on time, with the expected quality and budget;
  • Manage client relations and handle any service issues promptly and professionally
  • Engage with UK and Chinese media as required for the effective campaign;
  • Produce media reports after events;
  • Monitor PR event progress and client feedbacks.

Requirements

  • Previous experience in PR events organising is essential
  • Strong knowledge of PR and media engagement in China and the UK
  • Excellent command of English and mandarin Chinese (written and spoken) as the employee will need to liaise with Chinese clients
  • Able to produce proposals and presentations as relevant, and write internal communications
  • Able to communicate effectively and sensitively with people from other cultures
  • Flexible and able to take pro-active approach
  • Problem-solving skills and creative thinking in fluid or less structured environments
  • Able to work under pressure and deliver to deadlines
  • Excellent organisational skills and able to multi‐task
  • PR and Media degree advantageous
